Blockchain Babes
Co-Founder & Facilitator | 2018 | Blockchain education community for women | view all creations
Founded and facilitated a global community supporting and educating women in blockchain.
Blockchain Babes began with a simple yet powerful question: Where are all the women in blockchain? In 2018, during a meeting in Ubud, Bali, co-founders Patricia Parkinson, Anette Wilms, and Danielle Diamond discovered their shared passion for emerging blockchain technology and recognized the need for a community where like-minded women could connect, learn, and support each other.
Blockchain Babes was created as a global movement by women for women, aiming to empower and encourage women to explore and learn about blockchain's exciting potential and challenges together. The community provided a protected space for women to share curiosity and knowledge, nurturing an online community and hosting regular meetups in various international cities. At its peak, the movement expanded beyond Bali into a thriving global network with over 300 women and nine city hubs.
The initiative focused on researching practical use cases of blockchain technology, emphasizing open discussions and knowledge sharing while excluding dialogue about trading or profit generation.
