Designed a blockchain product to address safety hurdles impacting mainstream crypto adoption.
Chestnut was conceptualized and developed by a team of co-founders as a pioneering blockchain product addressing one of the most significant obstacles to mainstream crypto adoption: the fear of managing and protecting one’s own money. By incorporating trusted security practices from traditional banking and bridging them to blockchain, Chestnut provided users with a multi-signature, smart contract-enabled "Smart Account" for safeguarding and automating their finances.
First conceived and prototyped in under 72 hours during the London chapter of the EOS Global Hackathon in 2018, Chestnut won 1st Runner Up and Best UX at the event and later competed as a finalist at the Cape Town Grand Finale. While the project didn’t fully deploy due to security liability concerns, it highlighted a critical problem in the industry and inspired further advancements in blockchain usability.
