Helped build a breakout online financial news startup during the 2008 global financial crisis.
Joined DEX.tv (Brookshire Media) as a copywriter, editor, and digital producer in the early days of a fast-scaling virtual financial news network. My role rapidly evolved during the peak of the 2008 global financial crisis, contributing to both daily production and broader organizational systems as the team grew from 6 to 120 people and expanded from a 30-minute to a 7-hour daily video broadcast.
What began as a crash course in economics became a masterclass in interdisciplinary collaboration— until the company’s abrupt shutdown, revealing deep ethical violations by its founders. The experience shaped my understanding of both startup dynamics and the importance of principled leadership.
