Created a series of virtual immersive art parties exploring the relationship between humanity and technology.

Immersiverse 1.0 & 2.0: Immersive Art Parties Set in 3020

Immersiverse 1.0 and 2.0 were immersive art parties staged in the year 3020, exploring the relationship between humanity and the overwhelming force of technology. The events featured multiple experiences, including art rooms, dance floors, a peer support hub, and emergent art created in real time by attendees.

The Liminalia team designed the narrative, recruited artists, built a web portal for secure access, and managed the event’s marketing, communications, and technical support. With >1,000 attendees and 30 live experiences, these events offered a vibrant, experimental space for connection and creativity.

Immersiverse 3.0: Small-Group Connection and Minimal Screen Time

Immersiverse 3.0 introduced a new model for COVID-safe gatherings, focusing on small-group connections and reducing screen time. Participants joined in-person or virtual pods to navigate the event via a phone tree system (Twilio), connecting them to live or pre-recorded audio experiences. This episode emphasized physical presence and intimacy, building stronger community bonds.

The process included designing an audio-centric narrative, training collaborators, and developing technical systems to support the phone tree model. The event attracted >1,000 attendees, with 50+ artists contributing to 40 concurrent experiences, achieving a pod average of 3.4 participants.

Results and Legacy

Across the series, Immersiverse became a platform for radical experimentation and community building at a time of global disconnection. The events catalyzed collaborations with organizations like Burning Man, Esalen, MAPS, and Topia, while also contributing to metaverse innovations like Gather, Sparkleverse, and Topia. Immersiverse’s open-source templates and insights continue to inspire similar virtual gatherings.
