Design & Facilitation | 2021 | Regenerative village project and public master plan | view all creations
Designed and facilitated think tanks for a regenerative village's open-source master plan.
La Tierra is a regenerative village project spanning 430 acres of pristine land in the Nicoya Peninsula of Costa Rica. The initiative aims to create a blueprint for sustainable living—a new approach to building with and for nature. By challenging conventional methods of community creation and governance, La Tierra seeks to foster an immersive world filled with art and innovative ideas to tackle some of the world’s biggest challenges under the guiding principle: give more than you take.
To bring this vision to life, we hosted a series of think tanks — collaborative brainstorming sessions that gathered experts from around the world to inform the village's master plan, known as VillageOS. These sessions contributed to a document conveying the project's vision and development plan, focusing on topics such as community design, governance, earth stewardship, and more.
This project not only provided an opportunity to dive deep into considerations for developing and stewarding land but also enabled us to connect with inspiring professionals across a vast range of fields, all sharing the mission to create a regenerative future. Importantly, the learnings and designs from La Tierra are being open-sourced, allowing others to reference and build upon it.
