Co-founded a global coalition fostering connection during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, I co-founded Quaranteam, a global volunteer coalition mobilized to foster human connection, enhance social health, and strengthen civic fabric during an unprecedented time of social distancing. The coalition’s work focused on collaborative idea sharing and project generation, both within the group and in support of a wider ecosystem of similar organizations.

Quaranteam empowered people to stay at home voluntarily by encouraging the formation of social clusters for emotional and practical support during lockdown. The coalition also prioritized three clear goals: saving lives immediately, humanizing the lockdown experience, and rethinking systemic aspects of society—from food systems to education, governance, and relationships. Outcomes included frames in 25 languages, used by over 15 million people, including Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg.

The profound experience of reaching out to our networks and receiving a resounding “yes, how can I help” from so many people highlighted the collective commitment to supporting one another during this crisis. Despite the pressures of rapid mobilization, our team of four female founders led this initiative with clarity and determination, making an immediate and lasting impact.
