Led brand and experience design for Topia, a pioneering social metaverse platform for the creator economy.
As the metaverse emerged in 2020, I played a pivotal role in conceptualizing and realizing Topia—a browser-based social experience platform designed to foster meaningful, real-time connections in customizable virtual worlds. From coining the name to shaping the brand strategy, I helped guide Topia's evolution into a dynamic space for creators, communities, and confluencers.
Serving as Experience Design Director and Creative Director, I led the user experience and interface design, transforming early prototypes into a robust platform. I also established and directed Topia Lab, an innovation hub that developed immersive experiences and frameworks to support creators and community builders.
Topia stood out in the metaverse landscape due to its accessibility (no downloads required), privacy (peer-to-peer encrypted connections), and interoperability (seamless embedding of external content). It was among the first platforms to integrate verified NFTs, allowing users to showcase digital assets within their virtual spaces .
Collaborating closely with the founders and investors, including Alexis Ohanian's Seven Seven Six, I contributed to initiatives like the Quest for Greatness — a custom Topia world that narrated the investor's journey and vision.
