Digital Thumbprint Program

Designed and developed a national Australian CSR school program promoting digital literacy, in partnership with Optus (Singtel).

The Digital Thumbprint Program teaches secondary students how to maintain a positive online presence, and be a discerning digital native. Leading the creative team (content and facilitation) produced a series of face-to-face workshops for Singtel Optus to promote positive "digital citizenship" for 100,000 students across Australia.

The focus of the program was on learning how to maintain a positive online presence, and be a discerning digital native. To teach this, we identified the critical period for shaping online habits and behaviours in young adults, identifying areas to promote positive online attitudes, and how to use technology to aid - rather than distract - from their ambitions.

My contributions

  • Led the creative team designing the program content and hiring/training facilitators

  • Engaging the expert advisors during the process

What I loved about this project

  • The program’s mission – digital literacy is valuable and fundamental

  • Collaborating during the rollout of Optus’s rebrand and seeing behind the curtain on their process

  • This was the first program at ChangeLabs that I was able to lead the design of, from inception to pilot

  • That this program still exists! Optus Digital Thumbprint is now a key part of the curriculum in many schools across Australia and 415,000 students have now completed the workshop. Visit website
